"North London? What's that?" she recently commented in an exclusive interview, broadcast to anyone who was listening in the coffee lounge. "It's just a bunch of northerners playing at being southerners. Cockneys? Scratch the surface and you just get a Yorkshireman or a Lancastrian"

The Buildings of Balham
